Abstract

A new record of Fishtail Projectile Point (FTPP), or Fell 1 projectile point type, from Central Argentina Southern Pampean Hills is described. A stem from a dark red volcanic and non-local FTPP was found in the Characato valley. A techno-typological description is reported as this proves one of the few registers of fluted projectile points in the area. Furthermore, Pleistocene-Holocene transition archaeological sites are particularly scarce at a regional level; hence this new evidence is important to establish human occupation through material culture
