Se describen brevemente los sitios y materiales arqueológicos de la localidad arqueológica de Arroyo Leyes; se identifican las características principales de los tipos cerámicos excavados por coleccionistas entre 1934 y 1938; se elaboran hipótesis sobre su origen y se relacionan las piezas con prácticas religio-sas y mágicas de origen africano, consecuentes con la esclavización de habitantes del Golfo de Guinea.
Sites and archaeological materials from Arroyo Leyes are briefly described in this work. Main characte-ristics of pottery types dug by collectors between years 1934 and 1938 are identified, and hypothesis for their origin are proposed. The pieces are studied in relation to religious and magical practices of African origin, consistent with enslavement of Gulf of Guinea inhabitants.
