Microrrestos de vegetales cultivados y silvestres en fragmentos cerámicos. Primeras evidencias en el Centro Occidente argentino

dc.descriptionEl centro occidente argentino fue el límite meridional de la dispersión agrícola en Sudamérica hasta la llegada europea y el consumo de productos agrícolas tuvo diferentes intensidades en los últimos 2.000 años. En este trabajo se analizan por primera vez en la región los microrrestos vegetales adheridos a la superficie de fragmentos cerámicos de sitios del norte de Mendoza, Rincón de Los Helados (precordillera) y Memorial de la Bandera (piedemonte). El objetivo es analizar preliminarmente el uso de vegetales entre los ca. 2.000 y los 1.000 años AP y aportar al conocimiento de la función de las vasijas cerámicas. Los resultados indican la presencia de almidón de maíz y de algarrobo, lo que reafirma la propuesta surgida del análisis de macrorrestos y de isótopos en huesos humanos.es-ES
dc.descriptionWest-central Argentina was the southern limit of the spread of agriculture in South America until European arrival, and the consumption of agricultural products varied its intensity during the last 2,000 years. A first for this region, this paper analyzes plant micro-remains adhered to the surfaces of ceramic fragments from northern Mendoza archaeological sites: Rincón de Los Helados (pre-cordillera) and Memorial de la Bandera (piedmont). Our aim is to present a preliminary study on the use of plants between ca. 2,000 and 1,000 years BP, and thereby contribute to data concerning the function of ceramic vessels. The results indicate the presence of maize and algarrobo starch, supporting previous analyses of plant macro-remains and isotopes in human bones.en-US
