| dc.description | Durante las últimas dos décadas los estudios sobre los metales prehispánicos en el Noroeste argentino han estado fuertemente asociados al análisis del estilo tecnológico, explorando la relación dialéctica entre las prácticas sociales y las elecciones tecnológicas. Sin negar tales enfoques, sino por el contrario complementándolos, indagamos con mayor detalle el universo de las representaciones visuales de hachas y de campanas durante los momentos prehispánicos tardíos (siglos IX a XV). Para ello tomamos en cuenta sus distribuciones espaciales, de modo de articular el estilo iconográfico y el tecnológico con tradiciones geográficamente localizadas. El estudio conjunto del análisis estilístico y tecnológico sumado al espacial nos permite proponer la presencia de al menos cinco tradiciones de producción metalúrgica en la región. | |
| dc.description | During the last two decades the studies of prehispanic metals in Northwestern Argentina have been strongly associated with the analysis of technological style, exploring the dialectical relations between social practices and technological choices. Without denying such approaches, but rather complementing them, we examine in more detail the universe of visual representations from metal axes and bells during the late prehispanic times (IX to XV centuries). For this purpose we consider the spatial distribution of objects in order to articulate the iconographic and technological style with geographically located traditions. The study of the technological, stylistic and spatial analysis allows us to suggest the presence of at least five traditions of metallurgical production in the region. | |
