| dc.description | En este artículo se presentan los primeros resultados del reanálisis de la colección arqueológica generada por Samuel Kirkland Lothrop durante los trabajos de campo que llevó a cabo en 1925 en el Delta del río Paraná (provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina). Se estudian los materiales arqueológicos procedentes de los sitios Arroyo Malo, El Cerrillo y Arroyo Sarandí depositados en el National Museum of the American Indian (Washington DC). La nueva información obtenida a partir de las colecciones permite profundizar dos aspectos claves en los que se centra la discusión del artículo: la tecnología ósea y la expansión meridional de los guaraníes en la cuenca del Plata. | |
| dc.description | This article presents the first results of the re-analysis of Samuel Kirkland Lothrop’s archaeological collection gathered during the field works he carried out in 1925 in the Paraná Delta (Buenos Aires Province, Argentina). The archaeological materials from Arroyo Malo, El Cerrillo and Arroyo Sarandí sites of the National Museum of the American Indian collections (Washington, DC), were studied. This new information allows to analyze in depth two key aspects of the article’s discussion: the bone technology and the Southern expansion of the Guaraní populations in the La Plata Basin. | |
