| dc.description | El objetivo primario de este trabajo consistió en tratar de comprender cómo se organizó la producción agrícola en el valle de Ambato, Catamarca, entre los siglos VII y XI d.C. Con este propósito, se realizaron actividades tendientes a caracterizar los sistemas agrícolas del valle, analizar la diversidad de los sistemas productivos locales, indagar sobre las tecnologías empleadas en las prácticas de producción y vincular el sistema agrícola con la organización espacial del valle. Sin embargo, pronto, esta problemática fue sobrepasada y derivó en un universo mucho más amplio, el cual incluyó otras clases de objetos (recursos animales, estructuras ganaderas, artefactos líticos y cerámicos, etc.) y dimensiones no materiales (la espacialidad, el calendario anual de trabajo, los ciclos anuales naturales, etc.) que no pudieron ser disociadas de la producción agrícola. Los resultados alcanzados permitieron plantear la vigencia de un sistema agro-ganadero integrado, intensivo y acotado a un sector del valle, inédito para la región en estudio. | |
| dc.description | The aim of this study was to try to understand how agricultural production was organized in the Ambato Valley, Catamarca, between the 7th and 11th centuries AD. For this purpose, we performed activities to characterize the valley’s agricultural systems, analyze the diversity of local productive systems, investigate the technologies used in production practices, link the agricultural system with the spatial organization of the valley and estimate the production and sustainable capacity of agricultural fields. However, this problematic was soon overcome and led to a much wider universe, which included other classes of objects (animal resources, livestock structures, lithic and ceramic artifacts, etc.) and non-material dimensions (spatiality, the labor annual calendar, the natural annual cycles, etc.) that could not be dissociated from agricultural production. The results achieved, allowed us to set out the validity of an integrated and intensive agro-livestock system, which was limited to one sector of the valley and unprecedented in the region under study. | |
