| dc.description | El propósito de este artículo es el análisis del contenido étnico acumulado en las fuentes documentales de los siglos XVI y XVII referidas a los tafíes, amaichas, anfamas y siambones de la jurisdicción de San Miguel de Tucumán. La inexistencia de información producida por los mismos indígenas en la gobernación de Tucumán llevó a examinar las representaciones que los conquistadores tuvieron de la realidad nativa. Los límites étnicos y las identidades fueron fabricados por ellos mismos, a fin de acrecentar la fuerza de trabajo aborigen en sus unidades productivas.
Sin embargo, los mensajes dejados, al igual que las lecturas que los europeos realizaron, expresarían imágenes construidas en relación a las diferencias que apreciaron. Por ello es que las omisiones y las referencias tienen un carácter valorativo, y es justamente a través de ellas que es posible le planteo de determinada estructuración étnica. | |
| dc.description | The ethnic material contained in documental sources of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries referring to the “taffies”, “amaichas”, “anfamas”, and “siambones” of the jurisdiction of San Miguel de Tucumán is analyzed. Due to the lack of information produced by the Indians themselves in the Gobernación de Tucumán, the conqueror’s representations of native reality are examined, mainly because the ethnic boundaries and identities were “built” by the Spaniards themselves in order to increase the aboriginal labor force in their own productive units.
However, the messages left behind as well as the “readings” done by the Europeans would express images constructed in relation to the differences they saw and to the situations of social change they were going through. The omissions and references had a valuing character, and it is precisely through them that a particular ethnic structure can be proposed. | |
