| dc.description | La presencia del analista en “el campo”, o la reunión del investigador teórico y del investigador empírico en una misma persona, es el criterio demarcatorio del métier antropológico y caracteriza a todas las Ciencias Antropológicas. Este artículo examina, por un lado, la trayectoria centenaria de las concepciones y las prácticas con que arqueólogos y antropólogos sociales vienen produciendo conocimiento sobre la realidad empírica pretérita y actual de la Argentina, desde la institucionalización de las subdisciplinas antropológicas a fines del siglo XIX. Por otro lado, analiza cómo los antropólogos mismos fueron definiendo sus especialidades, convirtiendo al trabajo de campo en su marca distintiva, mientras operaban en un escenario atravesado por la antinomia y la persecución política e intelectual. | |
| dc.description | The presence of the analyst in “the field”, or the fusion of a theoretical and empirical researcher in one single being, is a central feature of the anthropological métier and defines every anthropological branch. This paper examines, on one hand, the centennial itinerary of notions and practices through which both archaeologists and social anthropologists have investigated the Argentine past and present, since anthropology started to institutionalize at the late nineteenth century. On the other hand, it analyzes how anthropologists themselves have defined their own expertise, turning fieldwork into their hallmark despite their acting on a stage run by political and intellectual antagonism and persecution. | |
