| dc.description | Este artículo combina ciertos aspectos de un trabajo de investigación y transferencia educativa que se viene desarrollando en la provincia de San Juan en los últimos tres años. Presentaremos el caso de estudio de algunas comunidades rurales del norte de San Juan. Aquí la gente refiere a los fragmentos cerámicos arqueológicos que se encuentran en las cercanías de sus casas y que son parte de su vida diaria como “cayanas”. “Las cayanas” no son objetivadas terminantemente como objetos arqueológicos, es decir, con valor científico o como patrimonio cultural. La gente del lugar interpreta al patrimonio arqueológico como algo prohibido, distante en el tiempo y en el espacio, pero al mismo tiempo se lo considera como algo propio porque es del lugar y parte de la historia de las comunidades. Las interpretaciones de “la cayana” expresan esa tensión y simultáneamente simbolizan las prácticas de oposición para la autodeterminación y las políticas de desarrollo implementadas en el lugar. | |
| dc.description | This article combines certain aspects of a work of investigation and educative transference that has been carried out over the last three years in San Juan, the Argentine Republic. We will present a case of study of some of the rural communities in the North of San Juan. Here people refer to the potsherds that are around the houses and that are part of daily life as “cayanas”. “The cayanas” are not seen strictly as archaeological objects, that is to say, with scientific value or as cultural heritage. People interpret archaeological heritage as something prohibited, distant in the time and space, but at the same time, they consider it their own because it is from the area and it is part of the history of the communities. The interpretations of “the cayana” express that tension, and simultaneously they symbolize the practices of opposition for the self-determination, and the implemented policies of development in the place. | |
