| dc.description | En el presente trabajo nos proponemos exponer sintéticamente las características del debate suscitado en torno a la identidad de un cacique blanco chaqueño que atacó diferentes poblaciones de la frontera norte de Santa Fe durante los años 1898 y 1899. El estudio del accionar de los renegados y de los cautivos dentro del complejo entramado de relaciones interétnicas de la frontera chaqueña permite problematizar algunos aspectos conceptuales en torno al mestizaje social. Como corolario esperamos plantear algunas reflexiones en torno a las problemáticas propias del escenario fronterizo hacia finales del siglo XIX. Con estos objetivos en mente analizamos fuentes históricas primarias y secundarias relativas al tema de interés poniéndolas en tensión con las investigaciones científicas contemporáneas interesadas en los actores sociales mestizos. | |
| dc.description | In this article we intend to briefly expose the characteristics of the debate that took place regarding the identity of a white chaqueñan Cacique that raided different settlements located in the northern border of the province of Santa Fe during 1898 and 1899. Studying the actions of the renegades and the captives within the complex frame of the social relationships displayed in the chaqueñan frontier, we were able to question some off the main conceptual issues regarding the social mixing. In order to accomplish this objective, we analyzed first hand and secondary historic sources related to the subject, and articulated that information with the contemporary scientific research interested in the “mestizos” social actors. | |
