dc.descriptionLa Localidad de Nazareno se ubica en el Departamento de Santa Victoria, en el extremo norte de la Provincia de Salta. Es un ecotono de abruptas quebradas ubicadas entre los 3500 y 2500 msnm que vinculan la Puna con el ambiente selvático de las yungas y que fuera posiblemente un nodo caravanero y punto crucial para el intercambio entre andinos y chiriguanos durante siglos. Arqueológicamente el área es poco conocida, destacándose los trabajos pioneros de Márquez Miranda en las primeras décadas del siglo XX y en los últimos 30 años los trabajos de Beatriz Ventura y su equipo. En prospecciones realizadas en el área, en busca de evidencias de ocupación Incaica, se localizó un alero con pinturas rupestres que presenta motivos vinculados con el momento de influencia Inca en la zona. El mismo se encuentra en relación directa con los principales sitios arqueológicos y vías de comunicación entre el altiplano y la yunga o selva.es-ES
dc.descriptionThe town of Nazareno is located in the Department of Santa Victoria, in the extreme North of the Province of Salta. It is a transitional landscape of abrupt gorges located between 3,500 and 2,500 meters above sea level, linking the Puna with the rainforest jungle environment of Yungas and possibly a caravanserais node and a crucial point for the exchange between Andean and Chiriguano people for centuries. Archaeologically the area is hardly known. The most outstanding works belong to the pioneer Márquez Miranda in the first decades of the twentieth century and to Beatriz Ventura and her team, who have been researching the area during the last 30 years. In investigations carried out in the area in search of Inca evidences a rock with cave paintings was located, which have some drawings related to the moment of Inca influence in the region and in direct relation with the main archaeological sites and communication routes between the Puna and the rainforest.en-US
