dc.description	This article analyzes, with the use of a critical approach with a decolonial perspective, the technical position of Archaeology in the field of contract in the City of Buenos Aires. It brings for this purpose, a case considered as emblematic in recent years when talking about patrimonial/public safeguarding of historical/ archaeological assets. Since 2012, the church and what survives of the convent of Santa Catalina de Siena in this city, have been threatened by at least two ̈different ̈ real estate megaprojects to be executed in the property adjacent to its ancient walls. The serious situation has jeopardized their physical integrity, as well as the archaeological heritage present in the subsoil.	en-US

This paper analyzes the historical, political and economic scenario that created the conditions for the existence of such development projects. It also exposes the scientific data extracted by archeology, which have endorsed the repeated refusals to the building permit, issued by both Court No. 10 of the city in 2013, and by the Superior Court of Justice of Buenos Aires in 2016.	es-AR
dc.description	El presente artículo analiza, con el empleo de un enfoque crítico de perspectiva decolonial, la posición tecnicista de la Arqueología en el ámbito de contrato dentro de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Trae para ello a colación, un caso considerado como emblemático en los últimos años cuando se habla de salvaguarda patrimonial/pública de los bienes históricos/arqueológicos. Desde el año 2012, la iglesia y lo que sobrevive del convento de Santa Catalina de Siena en esta ciudad, han sido amenazados por al menos dos megaproyectos inmobiliarios ¨distintos¨ a ejecutar en el predio contiguo a sus vetustos muros. La grave situación, ha puesto en jaque su integridad física, así como el patrimonio arqueológico presente a nivel de subsuelos. Este escrito analiza el escenario histórico, político y económico que creó las condiciones para la existencia de tales proyectos desarrollistas. También expone los datos científicos extraídos por la Arqueología, los cuales han avalado las reiteradas negativas al permiso de obra, emitidas tanto por el Juzgado No 10 de la ciudad en el año 2013, como por el Tribunal Superior de Justicia porteño en el 2016.	es-ES
