We present some proposals about the interactions between populations of the northern Salta and Jujuy Yungas, those in Quebrada de Humahuaca and Puna in the Northwest of Argentina (NOA), and sector of Bolivia at the end of the first millennium and the first centuries of the second, employing different approaches. Direct evidence recorded in funerary contexts of three archaeological sites, Manuel Elordi1, El Talar and Oran, located in the piedmont forest is presented. Several indicators, such as ceramics, metals, beads of diverse raw materials, freshwater snails and rock art, as well as some evidence from the Yungas found in regions with a better preservation of organic materials are considered. We consider their dispersal through possible interaction networks between these regions, with suggestions about those responsible for them.
