dc.descriptionEn la década de 1940 Salvador Canals Frau propuso que las sociedades prehispánicas que habitaron el área de Los Llanos riojanos habrían permanecido aisladas de otras poblaciones vecinas, generando una cultura material, una lengua y una identidad propias. Desde hace algunos años, nuestro equipo de trabajo realiza relevamientos y estudios sistemáticos en el área, con resultados pertinentes para discutir aquel supuesto. En tal sentido, se establecieron relaciones concretas entre Los Llanos y otras regiones, que debilitan la noción de aislamiento geográfico y cultural sostenido por Canals Frau. Para profundizar sobre esta línea, en esta oportunidad se exploran los vínculos visuales entre el espacio llanista y el NOA, con énfasis en determinadas figuras que, en el mundo andino, habrían incorporado significados socialmente relevantes. Entre estas se incluyen representaciones de objetos metálicos que sugieren algunas conexiones significativas y sostenidas entre ambas áreas, en particular durante el milenio previo a la invasión española.
dc.descriptionIn the 1940s, Salvador Canals Frau proposed that the pre-Hispanic societies that inhabited the area of the plains would have remained isolated from other neighboring populations, generating their own material culture, language, and identity. For some years now, our work team has carried out surveys and systematic studies in the area, with pertinent results to discuss that assumption. In this sense, concrete relations were established between Los Llanos and other regions, which weaken the notion of geographic and cultural isolation maintained by Canals Frau. To delve into this line, this time the visual links between the Llanista space and the NOA are explored, with emphasis on certain figures that, in the Andean world, would have held socially relevant meanings. These include representations of metallic objects that suggest some significant and sustained connections between the two areas, particularly during the millennium prior to the Spanish invasion.
