dc.descriptionSe presentan los resultados obtenidos en las prospecciones realizadas durante los años 2006 y 2007, en el Valle de Ambato, Departamento de Ambato (Catamarca). El objetivo principal es describir y analizar los sistemas agrícolas que funcionaron en dicho valle, durante los siglos VI al XI d.C. Asimismo, se suman elementos para el estudio del uso del espacio agrícola en un contexto social desigualitario. La información reunida permite plantear que durante este período se practicó una agricultura predominantemente a secano, efectuada a través de una infraestructura orientada a reducir los riesgos de pérdida de producción y garantizar el abastecimiento de alimentos.
dc.descriptionThe results obtained from surveys carried out in 2006 and 2007 in the Ambato Valley, Department of Ambato, Catamarca, are presented in this paper. The main objective is to describe and analyze the agricultural systems that functioned in this valley from the sixth through eleventh centuries AD. In addition, data for the study of the use of agricultural space in a context of social inequality are included. The data obtained confirm that unirrigated agriculture was mainly practiced during this period, made possible by an infrastructure designed to reduce the risks of production loss and guarantee food supplies.
