AbstractThis article belongs to a more extensive research that, not only intends to analyze how historical context is reflected on the Works “Córdoba del Tucumán prehispánica y proto-histórica”, by Pablo Cabrera (1931), and “Los comechingones”, by Antonio Serrano (1945) but also aims at, partially, understanding the way in which these Works give form to, the subject of this study, the towns settled in Córdoba Mountains. In order to estimate the importance of the analyzed Works, it has firstly been organized a Universe of announcements regarding the towns originated in Córdoba Mountains, from their conquest up to their present, as well as the relation of such announcements to these Works. The analysis starts from characterizing native towns´ features and the place where discourses are produced. By considering such features, the reader will be able to distinguish phases from internal stages. It is this first part, where the mentioned Works are not considered individually but as part of a whole, that will be submitted hereinafter. It is, then, possible to set two clearlydifferent stages: The first stage involves documents produced by the Spanish Society during reconnaissance, conquest and colonization. After a gap that lasts nearly all XIX century when all references to native peoples from the Mountains are lost, interest reemerges from a scientific and academic scope and sets up a new stage. Both stages involve internal phases and it is possible to determine relations to and within each other. Key Words: System of dispersion - Native Towns - Córdoba - Comechingones.es-ES
