| dc.description | El valle de Catamarca cuenta con pocas referencias bibliografícas arqueológicas, por lo que nuestras primeras preguntas fueron guiadas por la necesidad de conocer cómo fue la construcción social del paisaje, para averiguar qué rol jugaba a nivel regional en relación con las investigaciones e interpretaciones que se generaron en valles vecinos. Metodológicamente llevamos a cabo prospecciones guiadas por las sendas que aún persisten, junto a la ejecución de sondeos estratigráficos. Respecto a los resultados, hemos registrado gran variedad y cantidad de sitios arqueológicos de diversas formas y tamaños, junto a complejos sistemas de terrazas de cultivos y arroyos destinados para almacenar agua. Interpretamos a este valle como un lugar donde el paisaje fue constantemente re-creado por un grupo que habría habitado de forma permanente en estrecho contacto con otras regiones interconectadas por la red de sendas que se usan en la actualidad, y que posiblemente fueron utilizadas en el pasado. | es-ES |
| dc.description | Our main objectives were understanding and interpreting the social construction of landscape in the valley. This is to say, which was the role it played regionally, in connection with the available information of the surrounding valleys. Methodologically, we conducted surveys following the paths that still exist in the valley, along with the implementation of stratigraphic test pits to delimit the different contexts of use of the identified structures. The results presented here are more than promising since we have recorded a great variety and number of archaeological sites of various shapes and sizes, together with complex systems of terraced fields and reservoirs for water storage. Thus, we interpret this valley as a place where the landscape was in constant re-creation. People who lived there probably had a permanent settlement which in turn conformed a network system interconnected with paths that are used today and, possibly, in the past. | en-US |
