| dc.description | El artículo elabora una aproximación histórica al Museo Histórico Provincial “Dr. Julio Marc” de Rosario con el fin de analizar la vinculación entre la cultura material que allí se alojó, las identidades colectivas y las representaciones del pasado. Se hace referencia a algunas de las características propias del museo teniendo en cuenta su gestación y desarrollo en el transcurso de las primeras décadas del siglo XX y la función social y cultural que cumplió. También se estudia cómo se constituyó su colección fundacional, examinando la procedencia y el tipo de piezas que ingresaron en esta etapa. Asimismo, el trabajo examina la manera en que fueron mostrados los objetos, para finalmente proponer algunas reflexiones que sirvan para repensar el lugar de los artefactos visuales en la construcción de las identidades, cómo se visibilizan e invisibilizan determinadas voces y memorias de la sociedad y los relatos que les otorgan sentido. | |
| dc.description | The article develops a historical approach to the Museo Histórico Provincial “Dr. Julio Marc” of the city of Rosario so as to analyse the connection between the material culture which was hosted there, the collective identities and the representations of the past. Reference is made to some specific characteristics of the museum considering its gestation and development over the course of the first decades of the 20th century and the social and cultural function it fulfilled. The paper also shows how its fundamental collection was constituted, examining the source and type of pieces incorporated during this phase. In addition, it studies the way in which the objects were displayed, so as to suggest, ultimately, some useful considerations on the role played by the visual artifacts in the construction of the identities; how certain voices and memories of the society are made visible and invisible; and the stories that make them meaningful. | |
