| dc.description | Este informe se enmarca en el proyecto de investigación arqueológica “Localización del paraje y fortín India Muerta” cuyo objetivo principal es determinar el emplazamiento del fortín, que se situaría al sur de la actual provincia de Santa Fe. Las fuentes
documentales mencionan a India Muerta como un paraje existente desde fines de los años
´20 del siglo XVIII, antecediendo considerablemente a la etapa virreinal en la cual habría
formado parte de la línea de fronteras.
Con nuestra investigación, intentamos esclarecer una situación histórica confusa
para la comunidad asociada a dicho sitio. Se sabe acerca de su existencia pero su historia no
se conoce en profundidad. Desde la arqueología nos proponemos estudiar la temática, fundamentalmente para recuperar esta historia específica, y así contribuir a enriquecer la
constante construcción de las identidades locales y regionales. | |
| dc.description | This report is set within the framework of the archaeological research project
“Location of the India Muerta Place and Fort”, whose main goal is to determine the site of
the fort, which seemed to be located in the south of the current Province of Santa Fe.
Documentary sources mention India Muerta as an existing place since the late 20´s during
the 18th century, long before the vice royal era, in which it might have been part of the frontiers line.
With our investigation we attempt to clarify a historical situation, which is confusing to the community associated to that site. Its existence is known, but its history is not
very well-known. From the archaeological perspective we aim to study the subject matter,
mainly to recover this specific history, and thus contribute to enrich the continuing construction of local and regional identities. | |
