| dc.description | El patrimonio cultural en este siglo es objeto de múltiples miradas, críticas y reclamos. Lejos de la tradicional visión monolítica que suele ser sustentada en la normativa protectora y en los inventarios de monumentos, la noción de patrimonio se expande conceptualmente, al tiempo que es cuestionado por diferentes actores sociales. Su existencia misma está además amenazada por actividades ilícitas, incluyendo el saqueo y tráfico de bienes culturales en una escala hasta ahora desconocida. En este punto cabe preguntarse: ¿tiene futuro el patrimonio? En este contexto, en este artículo se presenta una síntesis de algunas de las principales aristas del debate actual acerca del patrimonio cultural, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, poniendo especial énfasis en el patrimonio arqueológico, para luego analizar las perspectivas futuras con la intención de contribuir a una discusión más amplia sobre el tema. | |
| dc.description | In this century cultural heritage is being the subject of multiple views, claims and criticism. Far from the traditional monolithic visión, supported by protective laws and inventories of monuments, the notion of heritage has conceptually expanded and is being criticised by different social actors. Its existence is also threatened by illegal activities including looting and trade of cultural objetcts on a scale hitherto unknown. At this point a question arises: is there a future for heritage? In this context, this article summarizes some of the main aspects of the current debate about cultural heritage, both nationally and internationally, with particular emphasis on the archaeological heritage, and then analyzes the future prospects with the intention of contributing to a broader discussion on this topic. | |
