dc.description	The process of establishing Spanish cities in America was complex, slow, and sometimes involved forced relocations that left behind valuable remains at abandoned locations. Here we present here a revaluation project carried out by the Heritage Department of the Ente Cultural de Tucumán (ECT) on the historic site where the city of San Miguel de Tucumán was founded in 1565 and remained until 1685, when it was moved. Since 2010, the ECT, the Municipality of León Rougés, and the Ente Autárquico Tucumán Turismo (EATT), have participated in the public management of the historical–archaeological site as consultants with the shared goal of revaluing the site and its public use. This project was made possible thanks to national funding for the construction of an information module or information–interpretation center to revalue the site and improve the tourism and educational potential. In 2016, and after fruitful years of management and public use, flooding seriously damaged the center and it had to close. In 2019, the center was reopened. Today, with a renewed management policy that includes archaeological research and improved services for public use, the site receives a large number of visitors and is a resource for tourism, culture, and education. There are improved prospects for promoting tourism and culture, given the government's long-term commitment to sustain the center.	en-US
dc.description	El proceso de instauración de las ciudades españolas en América, fue complejo, lento y a veces implicó traslados forzados que dejaron atrás valiosos vestigios de aquellas locaciones. Lo que exponemos acá es un proyecto de puesta en valor que llevamos adelante desde la Dirección de Patrimonio del Ente Cultural de Tucumán (ECT) sobre el lugar histórico donde en 1565 se fundara la Ciudad de San Miguel de Tucumán y la cual permanecería allí hasta 1685, momento de su traslado. Desde el año 2010 el ECT, junto con la Comuna de León Rougés y el Ente Autárquico Tucumán Turismo (EATT), participa de la gestión pública del sitio histórico/arqueológico asesorando a partir de un proyecto común de puesta en valor y uso público. El mismo, pudo concretarse por el financiamiento nacional, destinado a la construcción de un módulo informativo o centro de información/interpretación que permitiera revalorizar el Sitio y mejorar la propuesta turística y educativa. Hacia 2016, y luego de fructíferos años de gestión y uso público, las condiciones ambientales truncaron esta propuesta, el centro sufrió serios daños y debió cerrar sus puertas hasta 2019, momento en que se pudo concretar la recuperación del mismo. En la actualidad, con una política de gestión renovada que incluye la investigación arqueológica y la mejora de los servicios para el uso público, el sitio recibe gran cantidad de visitantes y ofrece un recurso turístico, cultural y educativo con mejores perspectivas de promoción turística y cultural; y con el compromiso gubernamental de sostenerlo en el tiempo.	es-ES
