dc.descriptionThis paper presents the results derived from the reconstruction of forms and the analysis of use-alteration traces of vessels associated with the human burials of the archeological site Los Tres Cerros 1 (LTC1). LTC1 is a mound structure of anthropic origin, known regionally as "cerrito", which was inhabited by groups of hunters, gatherers, fishers and small scale horticulturalists between circa 1227 and 560 years BP. Two sectors were identified on the site: the top of the mound where different activities related to the occupation of the structure were developed, and a núcleo de inhumación of human burials on the eastern side of the mound, at the intersection with the plain. With the aims of reconstructing the artifacts originally handled by potters and identifying the role played by the pottery in funerary contexts, reassamblies were performed and distribution patterns of the marks produced by the use of containers were recorded. These studies were complemented with the analysis of the biosiliceous particles adhered to the walls of the vessels as recognized proxies in the regional archaeological literature for the establishment of manufacture strategies and use of the vessels. The integration of the results of these lines of evidence allowed us to infer that the vessels were used in domestic activities (cooking and food service), but in the last moments of their life histories they acquired a funerary function, given that they were deposited and fragmented in association with human burials.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este trabajo se presentan los resultados derivados de la reconstrucción de formas y el análisis de huellas de uso y alteración de las vasijas asociadas a los entierros del sitio arqueológico Los Tres Cerros 1 (LTC1). LTC1 es una estructura monticular de origen antrópico, denominada regionalmente como “cerrito”, que fue habitada por grupos cazadores, recolectores, pescadores y horticultores a pequeña escala entre circa 1227 y 560 años AP. En el sitio se identificaron dos sectores: la cima del montículo donde se desarrollaron diversas actividades relacionadas con la ocupación de la estructura y un núcleo de inhumación de entierros humanos en la ladera este del montículo, en la intersección con la planicie. Con los objetivos de reconstruir los artefactos originalmente manipulados por los ceramistas e identificar las funciones desempeñadas por la alfarería en contextos domésticos y funerarios, se realizaron remontajes y se relevaron patrones de distribución de las huellas producidas por el uso de los contenedores. Estos estudios fueron complementados con el análisis de las partículas biosilíceas adheridas a las paredes de los recipientes como proxies reconocidos en la literatura arqueológica regional para el establecimiento de estrategias de manufactura y uso de las vasijas. La integración de los resultados de estas líneas de evidencia permitió inferir que las vasijas fueron utilizadas en actividades domésticas (cocción y servicio de alimentos), pero que en los últimos momentos de sus historias de vida adquirieron una función funeraria, al ser depositadas y fragmentadas en asociación con entierros humanos.es-ES
